Prometey inks Ariel Atkins

SC Prometey Kamianske (Superleague) agreed terms with 25-year old American international point guard Ariel Atkins (180cm-96, college: Texas) for new 2021-22 season. Atkins plays this summer at Washington Mystics (WNBA). In 20 games she had very impressive stats: 17.4ppg, 3.0rpg, 3.2apg and 1.6spg. 2021-21 was a great season as she was named to WNBA All-Star Game. The last season she played at Elazig Il Ozel Idare in Turkish KBSL where in 5 games she recorded 10.4ppg, 3.4rpg, 2.0apg and 1.8spg.
Three years ago she was drafted by Washington Mystics (WNBA) in first round (7th overall).
The former University of Texas star is in her fourth season in pro basketball.
She has been also a member of USA international program for some years. Atkins has regularly played for USA senior team since 2020 and previously for U18 National Team back in 2014.
She represented USA at the Olympic Games in Tokyo (Japan) this year. Her team won Gold and her stats at that event were 5 games: 1.8ppg.
Atkins' career allowed her to visit three different continents. Atkins tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Australia and of course North America. She has played previously professionally in Australia (Perth Lynx), Poland (InvestInTheWest Enea Gorzow Wielkopolski) and Turkey (Izmit).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others she won WNBA championship title in 2019. Atkins was voted to WNBA All-Defensive 2nd Teamfor three consecutive years between 2018 and 2020.
