The most surprising game was the first loss of Dnipro (8-1) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were edged by eighth ranked Rivne (4-5) 91-90. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Dnipro. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 29-22 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Yevgen Koroviyakov produced 13 points and 9 rebounds for the guests. Rivne's coach Mikhail Pereverziy tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 5: winless Stariy Lutsk lost to Krivbas on the opponent's court 62-73. Niko Basket unfortunately lost to Hoverla in a home game 67-85. K.Sokoly managed to beat Cherkasy on the road 98-91. Krivbas defeated Hoverla on its own court 82-68. Winless Stariy Lutsk was beaten by Niko Basket in Mykolaiv 78-66. Zaporizhye lost to Kyiv Basket at home 80-86.

Krivbas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Hoverla's 28. They outrebounded Hoverla 42-25 including a 31-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was center Sergii Skira (210-2000, agency: BIG) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds.
