Sweden outscore Great Britain 75-66 at the Inselpark Arena. It was Great Britain to win the opening period 22-15 and looked better in the court. Sweden meanwhile replied with a 16-9 run in the second quarter and pushed the tempo for good in the third period. The Scandinavian side added another massive 26-16 surge to take control of the game. Klara Lundquist (173-G-1999) and Ellen Nystrom (185-SF-1993, college: Colorado St.) scored for 63-47 early in the last period, Temi Fagbenle (193-C-1992, college: USC) reduced to 13 after a three-pointer for the opponents. Louice Halvarsson (191-C/F-1989) and Holly Winterburn (178-G-2000, college: Oregon) exchanged the lay-ups for their teams, whilst Sweden later kept the advantage for good.
Klara Lundquist top-scored for the winners with 20 points and Frida Eldebrink (174-G-1988) netted 13. Holly Winterburn answered with 19 points in defeat and Temi Fagbenle had 11.
