British WSLB round 1 best performance: Andrea Daley

American Guard Andrea Daley (183-G) had an amazing evening in the last round for Newcastle Eagles, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
The player had a double-double of 22 points and 18 rebounds, while her team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team Essex R. (#7, 0-1) with 19-point margin 92-73. Thanks to this victory Eagles moved-up to the 4th position in British WSLB. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Newcastle E. won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Daley turned to be Eagles's top player in her first season with the team. Former Boston College star has very solid stats this year. Daley is in league's top in points (8th best: 22.0ppg), assists (6th best: 6.0apg) and averages impressive 3.0spg. Worth to mention Daley played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped her get the job in pro basketball.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Natalie Chou (185-G-1997) of Essex Rebels. Chou had a very good evening with a double-double of 25 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Rebels lost that game 73-92 to Newcastle E. (1-0). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Chou is a newcomer at Essex R., but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.0ppg (#4). She also registered 11.0 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was French guard Mathilde Domenger (170-G-2001) of league's top team Caledonia Gladiators. Domenger scored 24 points and passed 7 assists. She was a key player of Gladiators, leading her team to a 108-95 easy win against Manchester (#8, 0-1). Caledonia G. has a very good start of the season. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Domenger also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. The season just started for Domenger as she played only first game. But it already looks like she can be team's leader.

7. Frannie Hottinger (186-G/F-2003) of Manchester - 28 points and 4 rebounds
8. Kalaya Buggs (173-G-2004) of Nottingham - 24 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists
9. Quinesha Lockett (178-G-2001) of Essex R. - 21 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Irene Oboavwoduo (177-G-2008) of Manchester - 16 points, 3 rebounds and 7 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
