The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from London: London C. (#3) and Anglia Ruskin U. (#5). Anglia Ruskin U. was defeated at home 61-67 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. London C. forced 25 Anglia Ruskin U. turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by Anglia Ruskin U. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. stepped up with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) for the winners and chipped in 12 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals. London C.'s coach Robert Connell used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Tia Freeman with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Newly promoted London C. maintains third place with 5-2 record having 2 victories less than leader CoLA. Anglia Ruskin U. at the other side keeps the fifth position with four games lost. London C. are looking forward to face Brent Bulls (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. WNBL D1 top team - CoLA (7-2) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat twelfth ranked Bears (0-7) in Bromsgrove 84-72. The best player for the winners was Chandera Jones-Aryeh who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds and 14 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Rebecca Brindley who recorded 26 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. CoLA maintains first place with 7-2 record. Loser Bears still closes the standings with seven games lost. CoLA's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in London to the arena .
