Maccabi Karmiel (D1) strengthened their roster with the addition of 27-year-old British-Lithuanian 180cm shooting guard Gabby Nikitinaite (college: SIUE). She was the assist leader at MB Zaglebie Sosnowiec in Polish OBLK last season, where in 27 games she recorded 10.6ppg, 3.6rpg, and 5.6apg. She helped them reach the semifinals. Nikitinaite also played 8 games in Eurocup, where she averaged 14.6ppg, 4.6rpg, 5.1apg, and 1.1spg.
During the 2023-24 season, she split time between Royal Castors Braine in the Belgian league and Lointek Gernika Bizkaia in the Spanish league.
She is a very experienced player. Nikitinaite has also played professionally in Belgium, Spain, Switzerland (Fribourg), and the United Kingdom.
Among many awards, she played in the final of the Belgian League in 2024. She received the Eurobasket.com All-Swiss SBL Player of the Year award and Eurobasket.com All-Swiss SBL Bosman Player of the Year award back in 2023.
Nikitinaite graduated from Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville in 2022 and it will be her fourth season in pro basketball. She played for other colleges like The George Washington University and Northern Illinois University.
