TTT Riga celebrated the WBBL title. They overcame LCC Klaipeda in the championship game in Palanga tonight. Ieva Pulvere (172-G-1990) stepped up with 22 points to lead the champions.
LCC Klaipeda grabbed an early lead. They secured a 23-17 lead after the first period. But TTT Riga gained control in the second term. The Latvian powerhouse unloaded 28 points to secure a 45-40 halftime lead. TTT Riga poured in 22 points in the third term to extend the gap at 9-point mark at the final break. TTT Riga limited their opponents to just 8 points in the fourth stanza to race to the title. Gabija Meskonyte (181-F-1998) delivered 15 points for the winners. Elizabete Bulane (170-G-2003, college: Georgia Tech) answered with 17 points for LCC Klaipeda.
Neptunas finished third as they rolled past Kibirkstis 58-48 in the consolation final. Viktoriia Balaban (176-F/G-1997, agency: BIG) stepped up with 17 points.
