Belgium moved to the third place in Group A of FIBA U21 World Championship for Women after a tough game over China. Due to the second half Europeans overcame 76:70. Sara Leemans as usual was on the top with 24 points and 8 rebounds. Marjorie Carpreaux added 16, while Michiels collected 10. Zheng Bowen paced China with 17 points. Before the last game in the group Belgium is 2-2, while China stays winless, 0-4. Belgium clinched a quarterfinal place at the FIBA U21 World Championship for Women and eliminate the Asian giants. Probably Mali will join the latter.

China played the first half better and desired the quarterfinals as well. Even though Belgium won the opening quarter 22:20, China answered in the second. After Asians took a 48:45 lead early in the second half many spectators believed in them. It was however Sara Leemans who led her team to a 9-0 run. Belgium won the third with 19:14 and stayed closer of the quarterfinals ticket later in the fourth. Tingting Ding's jump shot with 2:38 remaining closed the gap to 71:69 for China, who had trailed by as many as 10 points early in the fourth quarter. Belgium pushed the tempo and won the game, 76:70.

The second game of the tournament and the fourth for the teams brought the win for Hungary in FIBA U21 World Championship for Women. A 10-points deficit in the second quarter was held till the end of the game and exchanged to 75:64 win over Brazil. Katalin Honti top-scored for the winners with 19 points.
