Brazil - South Korea 74-76
South Korea snatched a narrow two-point win over Brazil in the 2022 World Cup Qualifying Tournament. The Asian side improved at 1-1 record in Group A. Ji-Su Park (195-C-98) finished with impressive 20 points, 13 rebounds and 11 blocks for the winners.
South Korea eked out a 17-16 lead ten minutes into the game. They maintained the lead throughout the second term. South Korea arrived at the big break up by 3 points 33-30. Brazil however erased the deficit in the third term. The Latin American powerhouse snatched a 46-45 advantage at the final break. South Korea however quickly regained the lead in the fourth term. Lee-Seul Kang (180-F-94) gave South Korea a 76-72 advantage with few seconds left in regulation. Taina Paixao (175-G-91) dropped two free throws and missed the last one on purpose but Erika De Souza (197-C-82) failed to convert after an offensive rebound as South Korea escaped with the victory. Lee-Seul Kang produced 21 points for the winning side. Nany Carvalho (188-F-97, college: Kansas) chipped in 13 points for Brazil.
