Serbia beat Australia in a thriller at the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers. The European side needed a final push for a 78-71 win.
Serbia opened the game with a 24-20 lead, while Australia won the second frame 20-14 and then the third quarter 16-15. Only in the last stanza, Serbia took control in the game and after a 25-15 surge, clinched the victory.
Yvonne Anderson (170-G-90, college: Texas) was unstoppable scoring 30 points for the winners. Aleksandra Crvendakic (188-F-96) netted 12, whilst Tina Krajisnik-Jovanovic (190-F/C-91) poured in 11. Samantha Whitcomb (178-G-88, college: Washington) replied with 18 points in defeat and Rebecca Allen (188-G-92, agency: LBM Management) netted 15.
