Canada overcame Puerto Rico 79-60 in the Quarterfinal game at the 2022 World Cup. They posted a 26-11 surge at the start of the game and won the second period 18-12. Puerto Rico recovered with a 19-16 run in the third period, but could not catch up with the opponents.
Kia Nurse (183-PG-1996, college: UConn) top-scored for the winners with 17 points and Bridget Carleton (185-F-1997, college: Iowa St.) netted 15. Natalie Achonwa (190-F-1992, college: Notre Dame) and Laeticia Amihere (193-F-2001) added 12 points each. Arella Guirantes (181-PG-1997, college: Rutgers) answered with 19 points in the losing effort, whilst Trinity San Antonio (180-G-2003) had 16.
