Australia completed the 2022 World Cup semifinal picture. They defeated Belgium to set up the clash versus China in the semis in Sydney. Cayla George (193-C-1989) finished with 19 points and 9 rebounds to pace the winners.
Australia unloaded 26 points in the first period to open a 10-point lead. They added 26 points in the second quarter to take a 52-37 halftime advantage. Australia kept Belgium at bay throughout the third term. The Opals entered the final quarter up by as many as 24 points and cruised to the victory in the fourth frame. Marianna Tolo (196-C-1989) produced 13 points for Australia. Julie Allemand (173-PG-1996, agency: LBM Management) netted 15 points, while Kyara Linskens (193-C-1996, agency: LBM Management) and Hind Ben-Abdelkader (172-PG-1995, college: California) produced 13 points apiece in the losing case.
