World Cup 2026 Qualifiers: Team USA WBB beats New Zealand, 101-46- March 16, 2026Sorry for the picture, Washington Mystics fans. But the image feed didn’t show Kiki Iriafen (190-F-2003, college: USC) in the USA Basketball women’s national team’s 101-46 win over New Zealand earlier today in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Iriafen scored 9 points in 18 minutes where the USA led nearly the entire way. It included a 21-0 run by the Americans. Rhyne Howard (188-G-2000, college: Kentucky) led the Americans with 18 points. For the Tall Ferns (that’s the Kiwis’ nickname), Sharne Robati (190-F-2001) scored 11. The Americans’ last game in the qualifiers is against Spain on Tuesday at 5 p.m. ET. Watch it on TruTV. Keep in mind that Team USA must play in these qualifiers even though they already qualified for the World Cup by winning the 2025 Women’s AmeriCup.
