World University Games: Hungary clinch 5th place in Chengdu

Poland - Hungary 52:64

Hungary clinched 5th place in Chengdu at the World University Games 2023. They overcame Poland 64-52 in their last game. Hungary started with a 19-12 run, whilst Poland won the second and the third quarter to reduce to 1 point entering the last stanza. Hungary however closed the campaign with a final 18-7 surge to seal the win.
Beatrix Meresz (185-G/F-1999) top-scored for the winners with 15 points and Nora Wentzel (180-F-2001) added 13. Kamila Borkowska (201-C-2002, agency: SPORTFORUM Agency) replied with 17 points and 16 rebounds in the losing effort.
