Regular Season Round 7: Gmunden - Arkadia 80-75

First defeat of Arkadia Lions (5-1) against fourth ranked Gmunden Swans (5-1) 80-75 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Arkadia Lions. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Gmunden Swans made 27-of-34 free shots (79.4 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. 27 personal fouls committed by Arkadia Lions helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of international forward Enis Murati (194-88, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Naturalized German power forward Tilo Klette (206-77) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Four Gmunden Swans players scored in double figures. The former international point guard Benedikt Danek (176-86) answered with 22 points and 6 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and international guard Benedikt Guettl (190-94) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for Arkadia Lions. Gmunden Swans have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Arkadia Lions. Arkadia Lions will play next round against UBSC Graz trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Gmunden Swans will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Kapfenberg Bulls on the road.
