Rather expected game when 5th rankedSumqayit (2-5) lost at home to second ranked Nakhchivan (5-2) 116-99 on Friday. Nakhchivan dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Sumqayit 's 40. They outrebounded Sumqayit 42-31 including 18 on the offensive glass. Nakhchivan looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American players dominated the game. It was an exceptional evening for forward Dominique Keyes (203, college: Edinboro, agency: Dominion Sports Group) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 16 rebounds. Guard LaVone Holland II (190-1994, college: NKU) accounted for 24 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side. Holland II is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Nakhchivan players scored in double figures. Nakhchivan's coach Ladi Kvernadze used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Center Elijah Hutchins-Everett (208-2001, college: JMU) came up with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 20 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Keon Clergeot (185-1996, college: SE Louisiana) added 37 points (!!!) and 5 assists respectively for Sumqayit in the defeat. Nakhchivan maintains second place with 5-2 record having just two points less than leader Ordu. Loser Sumqayit dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. They share it with Guba and Serhedci.
