Regular Season Round 8: BUBA - Balkan 2 98-67

Division A top team - Buba (6-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Balkan 2 (2-5) in Sofia 98-67. They outrebounded Balkan 2 47-28 including a 33-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was swingman Ivan Alipiev (200-99) who scored 18 points. Guard Aleksandar Milov (198-95) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. Four Buba players scored in double figures. Power forward Rumen Vasilev (205-96) produced 21 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Radoslav Kochev (195-95) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Buba maintains first position in A with 6-0 record. Balkan 2 at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fifth place with five games lost. Buba's next round opponent will be Rilski 2 (#7) in Samokov where they are favorite. Balkan 2 will play at home against Akademik Sofia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
