Everything could happen in Banska Bystrica at the game between two tied teams. Both third ranked SlovakianSlavia and 5th ranked Czech SBS Ostrava had identical 3-2 record. This time Slavia used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Ostrava 80-56 on Monday night. Slavia forced 21 SBS Ostrava turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Lucia Zilinska (188-2002, college: Saskatchewan) who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Finnish center Helmi Tulonen (191-1998, college: Duquesne) who added 17 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. At the losing side Croatian forward Iva Belosevic (185-1997, college: UTRGV) responded with 11 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Oliana Squires (175-1998, college: Montana St.) scored 11 points and 5 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Slavia maintains third position with 4-2 record behind leader Ruzomberok. Loser SBS Ostrava dropped to the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with Trutnov.
