Regular Season Round 8: Tresnjevka - Sibenik 60-78

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss ofTresnjevka (7-1) in Zagreb on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by Sibenik (7-1) 78-60 . It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Tresnjevka. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Sibenik made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game, while Tresnjevka only scored two points from the stripe. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Bendu Yeaney (178-1998, college: Oregon St.) who helped to win the game recording 26 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Kyierah Dempsey-Toney who added 13 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. Four Sibenik players scored in double figures. Sibenik's coach Stipe Bralic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hungarian power forward Sara Heljic (193-2000) responded with 16 points and 8 rebounds and the former international center Ana Vojtulek (190-1999) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Sibenik have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Tresnjevka . Sibenik is looking forward to face Zadar Plus (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tresnjevka's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Zagreb to the arena Zagreb.
