Seventh-rankedDubrava (8-12) made lots of trouble for second ranked Split (16-4) on Saturday. Split managed to secure only one-point victory 88-87 . However their fans expected much easier game. Split looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Antonio Jordano (191-1999) who scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. International forward Dario Dreznjak (204-1998) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds. Split's coach Dino Repesa used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American guard John-Michael Wright (185-2001, college: OK State) produced 27 points and 4 assists and Andrej Matic (200-2003) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Split and four Dubrava players scored in double figures. Split maintains second position with 16-4 record having just two points less than leader Zadar. Dubrava at the other side dropped to the eighth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Kvarner and Dinamo. Split are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Sibenka (#12) in Sibenik in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Dubrava will play at home against Dubrovnik (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
