Regular Season Round 4: Naestved - Randers 81-69

Bottom-ranked Randers (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 81-69 loss to fourth ranked Naestved (3-1) in Naestved. It looked good early as Randers took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Naestved had a 22-14 second period charge getting the lead and Randers were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 69-81. They outrebounded Randers 45-27 including 19 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Caleb Walker (193-89, college: Nebraska) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds. South African center Christopher Gabriel (210-88, college: San Diego) contributed with 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Gabriel is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Naestved's coach Bogdan Karaicic used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American-Belizean point guard Charles Burgess (186-84, college: Texas Tech, agency: R.H.Consultancy) replied with 23 points and 5 rebounds and the former international swingman Chris Nielsen (192-85) added 16 points and 6 assists in the effort for Randers. Four Randers players scored in double figures. Naestved moved-up to third place, which they share with Svendborg. Randers at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with SISU. Naestved will play against Horsholm (#5) on the road in the next round. Randers will play against Stevnsgade and hope to get finally their first victory.
