Dameligaen top team - Virum (4-0) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they beat sixth ranked Stevnsgade (2-3) 62-45. The game without a history. Virum led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 21 Stevnsgade turnovers. The winners were led by American center Valerie Driscoll (193-92, college: Quinnipiac) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 12 points and 21 rebounds and the other American import guard Gillian Abshire (179-93, college: Quinnipiac) supported her with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Virum's coach Sergio Cubeiro used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists by forward Alberte Dokkedal (180-91) did not help to save the game for Stevnsgade. International forward Hanna Sheikh (180-92) added 11 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. Virum have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 4-0 record. Stevnsgade lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. Virum will meet bottom-ranked Aabyhoj (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Stevnsgade will have a break next round.
