Regular Season Round 18: Naestved - SISU 89-66

Date: January 12, 2017
The game between closely ranked teams ended with sixth ranked Naestved's (8-8) home victory over 7th ranked SISU (6-12) 89-66 on Thursday. The game without a history. Naestved led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Naestved forced 19 SISU turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Naestved made 7 blocks. Senegalese power forward Cheikh Sane (207-92, college: Marshall, agency: Octagon Europe) notched a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds to lead the effort and American-Nigerian forward Patrick Onwenu (198-93, college: Alcorn St.) supported him with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Naestved's coach Milan Skobalj felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 16 points and 18 rebounds by American forward Tanner McGrew (203-93, college: W.Virg.Wesl., agency: Duran International) did not help to save the game for SISU. His fellow American import point guard Derrick Wilson (185-92, college: Marquette) added 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Naestved have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Loser SISU keeps the seventh position with 12 games lost. Naestved will meet at home bottom-ranked Stevnsgade (#8) in the next round. SISU will play against Randers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
