Regular Season Round 24: Stevnsgade - Randers 106-92

Stevnsgade's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after 21 consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Randers (9-15) 106-92. It looked good early as Randers took a 11-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Stevnsgade took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 14 points. They outrebounded Randers 42-23 including a 19-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. 31 personal fouls committed by Randers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American power forward Davie Champagnie (206-90, college: Martin Methodist) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 19 rebounds and 6 assists. The other American import Alonzo Brooks (201-84, college: Central Mo.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international swingman Chris Nielsen (193-85) who recorded 32 points and 5 assists and Nigerian-American guard Deuce Bello (193-92, college: E.Tenn.St.) added 19 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Stevnsgade maintains eighth position with 1-21 record. It was Randers' third loss in a row. They keep the seventh place with 15 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
