Dameligaen top team - Virum (15-2) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat seventh ranked Aabyhoj (2-14) 58-45. The game was mostly controlled by Virum. Aabyhoj was better in third quarter 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Aabyhoj 50-33 including 22 on the offensive glass. The winners were led by American center Valerie Driscoll (193-92, college: Quinnipiac) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 13 points and 20 rebounds and forward Nikoline Oestergaard (183-92, college: Quinnipiac) supported her with 12 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Even a double-double of 16 points and 16 rebounds by American Mariyah Henley (-94) did not help to save the game for Aabyhoj. Guard Bianca Christiansen (178-90) added 12 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Virum have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 15-2 record. Aabyhoj lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 14 games lost. Virum will play against Stevnsgade (#5) on the road in the next round. Aabyhoj will play against Amager and hopes to get back on the winning track.
