Regular Season Round 17: Bakken - Naestved 88-80

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Risskov. Third ranked Bakken faced 4th placed Naestved. Host Bakken (10-3) defeated guests from Naestved (9-7) 88-80. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Naestved. Naestved was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 48-38 second half run of Bakken. Bakken had a 33-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. American-Trinidad and Tobago forward Devaughn Akoon-Purcell (196-93, college: Illinois St., agency: Slash Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 31 points. Senegalese center Michel Diouf (208-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Four Bakken players scored in double figures. Bakken's coach Steffen Wich allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Kazembe Abif (200-92, college: Drexel) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and British guard Conner Washington (183-92) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Naestved. Defending champion moved-up to second place. Naestved at the other side keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. Bakken will play against Horsholm (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Naestved will play against BMS Skovlunde and hopes to get back on the winning track.
