Second Stage Round 3: FoA - ViVe 91-74

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when Vimpelin Veto (4-17) was defeated on the road by Forssan Alku (2-19) 91-74 on Saturday. FoA looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Jada Lewis (175, college: SDSU) who scored 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. American-Mexican guard Alexis Cortez (183-1997, college: Utah Valley, agency: Interperformances) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Shyia Smith (180, college: UT Arlington) who recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points, 20 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import swingman Naomi Davenport (180, college: WVU) added 19 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Five FoA and four ViVe players scored in double figures. Forssan Alku will meet Espoo Team (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vimpelin Veto will have a break next round.
