Regular Season Round 12: PuHu Juniorit - PeU-Basket 62-80

Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked PuHu Juniorit (4-9) lost to fifth ranked PeU-Basket (8-5) in Vantaa 62-80 on Sunday. The winners were led by forward Thomas Ronnholm (193-2003) who scored that evening 22 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Tino Yli-Junnila (195-2005) supported him with 20 points. PeU-Basket's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Even 14 points and 5 rebounds by forward Aku Valimaki (194-2001) did not help to save the game for PuHu Juniorit. Center Saku Korhonen (199-2002) added 11 points and 9 rebounds. PeU-Basket have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. PuHu Juniorit lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with nine games lost. PeU-Basket will meet KTP II (#7) in the next round. PuHu Juniorit will play against TuNMKY in Turun and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
