Regular Season Round 7: Montbrison - Nice 68-50

Very expected game when 8th ranked Nice (3-4) lost on the road to fourth ranked Montbrison (5-2) 68-50 on Saturday. Montbrison outrebounded Nice 42-28 including 31 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for DR Congolese center Mariana Bulabula (187-1996, agency: LBM Management) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 24 rebounds. Rebecca Tsobgny accounted for 22 points, 8 assists and 4 steals for the winning side. Guard Lena Timera (178-1994) came up with 24 points and American guard Ryann Payne (170-2000, college: PVAMU) added 8 points and 5 assists respectively for Nice in the defeat. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Montbrison. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Feytiat. Loser Nice dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. Montbrison will meet Mondeville (#4) on the road in the next round. Nice will play against Hainaut (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
