Regular Season Round 19: Orchies - Besancon 86-71

Very predictable result when third ranked Orchesien BC (12-6) won against 9th ranked Besancon (8-11) in Orchies 86-71 on Friday. Orchies looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American power forward Joe Burton (202-1990, college: Oregon St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 22 rebounds, 8 assists and 7 steals. Guard Yanik Blanc (188-1999) accounted for 10 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Five Orchesien BC players scored in double figures. Luxembourg forward Ben Kovac (196-2000) came up with 13 points and Idrissa Pouye added 11 points and 5 assists respectively for Besancon in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Orchesien BC. Orchies maintains third place with 12-6 record having just three points less than leader Quimper. Loser Besancon dropped to the tenth position with 11 games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Orchies will meet at home Mulhouse (#5) in the next round. Besancon will play against Berck (#13) and hope to secure a win.
