Very expected game when 9th rankedVilleneuve (4-10) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Angers (9-5) 79-73 on Saturday. Angers outrebounded Villeneuve 44-32 including 33 on the defensive glass. American guard Ameryst Alston (175-1993, college: Ohio St.) scored 27 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and center Oumou Diarisso (190-2003) chipped in 13 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Center Aminata Gueye (193-2002) responded with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international forward Marie-Paule Foppossi (184-1998, college: URI) scored 20 points. Five Angers and four Villeneuve players scored in double figures. Angers have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with BLMA and Charnay. Defending champion Villeneuve dropped to the tenth position with ten games lost.
