Regular Season Round 23: Challans - Levallois 95-81

Very important is a road loss of third rankedMetropolitans (14-9) against fourth ranked Vendee Challans (15-8) on Friday night. Visiting Metropolitans was defeated by Vendee Challans in Challans 95-81 . It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Metropolitans. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Levallois was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for Serbian-Montenegrin power forward Luka Nikolic (209-1994) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Mohamad Diop (204-1999) accounted for 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Power forward Christian Nelson (200-2000) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Kevin Thalien (190-1992) added 17 points and 9 assists respectively for Levallois in the defeat. Five Challans and four Levallois players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Challans moved-up to second place, which they share with Tarbes-Lourdes and Orchies. Levallois at the other side dropped to the fourth position with nine games lost. They share it with Tours.
