Rather predictable result whenUnion Rennes (9-6) defeated at home Metz (7-8) 95-81 on Tuesday. Rennes dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Metz 's 32. Rennes had a 31-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was swingman Julian Ngufor (195-2001) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Guinean forward Cheick Sekou-Conde (203-1992) chipped in 22 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Nigerian-American guard Michael Nwabuzor (188-1996, college: NMHU) who recorded 13 points and 6 assists and center Vincent Pourchot (222-1992) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Four Rennes and five Metz players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Union Rennes will meet Feurs (#6) on the road in the next round. Metz will play against Poissy and hope to secure a win.
