Second Stage Round 6: Metz - Fougeres 64-66

The most exciting game of round 6 in the NM1 took place in Metz. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 10th rankedMetz (8-10) to first ranked Fougeres (12-5) 66-64 on Tuesday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Swingman Kevin Bichard (196-1986) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Alexis Thomas (208-1995) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Fougeres players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Romain Dardaine (200-1988) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and center Vincent Pourchot (222-1992) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Fougeres maintains first position with 12-5 record. Metz at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the seventh place with ten games lost. They share the position with 6 other teams. Fougeres are looking forward to face Berck (#7) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Metz will play against Pole France in Paris and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
