There was a minor upset when 3rd placedBesancon (11-8) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Union Rennes (11-8) 79-71 on Friday. Rennes looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Rennes made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for point guard Paul Billong (193-2001) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points. Forward Joffrey Sclear (200-1995) helped adding 21 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Union Rennes' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side forward Calvin Jubenot (198-1986) responded with 21 points and Idrissa Pouye scored 15 points. Rennes moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Besancon .
