There was no surprise when 11th rankedMetz (13-23) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Union Rennes (18-18) 101-91 on Tuesday. Rennes dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Metz 's 36 and made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Metz 34-22 including 29 on the defensive glass. Rennes looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Guard Kameronn Selebangue (190-2004) scored 25 points and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and center Louis Gibey (205-2000) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Romain Dardaine (200-1988) responded with 24 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and guard Alexandre Karolak (192-1995) scored 25 points and 4 assists. Five Rennes and four Metz players scored in double figures. Rennes moved-up to second place, which they share with 8 other teams. Metz lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the tenth position with 23 games lost. They share it with Charleville.
