Bottom-rankedLa Rochelle managed to get a fifth victory, breaking the six-game losing streak on Saturday night. This time newly promoted La Rochelle won against eleventh-ranked JSF Nanterre 76-63 . La Rochelle forced 20 Nanterre turnovers. Strangely Nanterre outrebounded La Rochelle 41-25 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was British power forward Jubrile Belo-Osagie (204-1998, college: Montana St.) who scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Matheo Leray (186-2003) chipped in 13 points and 7 assists. Four La Rochelle players scored in double figures. American forward Justin Tillman (203-1996, college: VCU) produced 14 points and 6 rebounds and the former international Paul Lacombe (196-1990) added 11 points respectively for the hosts. JSF Nanterre's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted La Rochelle maintains sixteenth position with 5-21 record. Nanterre lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth place with 16 games lost. They share the position with Strasbourg. La Rochelle will meet higher ranked Strasbourg (#13) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Nanterre will play against Chalon/Saone and hope to secure a win.
