Important game to mention about took place in Villeurbanne. Thirteenth rankedASVEL (11-17) saved a 1-point victory at home edging higher ranked Nancy (16-11) 61-60 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. ASVEL had a 31-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a good game for Yohann Sissoko (195-2006) who saved his team from a defeat with 29 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. DR Congolese power forward Paul Mbiya (211-2005) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. ASVEL's coach Mike Happio allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Guard Marc-Owen Fodzo (180-2006) answered with 28 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Iliam Fevry (188-2006) added 11 points in the effort for Nancy. ASVEL moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Paris. Nancy at the other side keeps the seventh position with 11 games lost. They share it with Dijon.
