Everything went according to plan in Fos-sur-Mer where third rankedProvence Basket (6-1) edged bottom-ranked Besancon (0-7) 94-92 on Tuesday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Strangely Besancon outrebounded Fos-sur-Mer 44-31 including 30 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Nigerian power forward Martins Igbanu (203-1997, college: Tulsa) fired 28 points and 8 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners. Bahamas point guard Dominick Bridgewater (178-2000) chipped in 23 points and 4 assists. produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 16 rebounds and Louis Marnette (192-2001) added 23 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Besancon's coach Laurent Kleefstra tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Provence Basket . Fos-sur-Mer keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 4 other teams. Besancon lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost.
