Not a big story in a game when 19th rankedVendee Challans (1-6) was defeated on the road by third ranked Chorale de Roanne (6-1) 97-79 on Friday. Roanne outrebounded Challans 38-25 including 24 on the defensive glass. Roanne looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Challans ' players. It was a great evening for Swedish center Mattias Markusson (217-1996, college: LMU, agency: Diamond Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). American Anthony Durham (190-1994, college: Rider) helped adding 17 points and 4 assists. At the losing side forward Mohamad Diop (204-1999) responded with 14 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Jeremy Bichard (186-1990) scored 13 points and 7 assists. Four Challans players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Chorale de Roanne have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Pau-Lacq-Orthez and Vichy. Loser Vendee Challans dropped to the bottom place with six games lost.
