There was a surprise result when fourteenth rankedChampagne (4-4) edged on the road higher ranked JA Vichy (6-2) 82-80 on Tuesday. The winners were led by Canadian point guard Shamar Givance (179-1999, college: UTEP) who scored that evening 16 points and 5 rebounds and power forward Mael Hamon-Crespin (206-2004, college: WSU, agency: Network Sports International) supported him with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four Champagne players scored in double figures. Even 20 points and 6 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) by American guard Jordan Shepherd (193-1997, college: California) did not help to save the game for Vichy . Senegalese forward Pape Diop (203-1996, college: Cape Breton) added 15 points for the hosts. JA Vichy's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Champagne moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser JA Vichy dropped to the second position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams.
