Not a big story in a game when 14th rankedBesancon (3-15) lost at home to ninth ranked Lyon (9-9) 85-79 on Friday. Lyon forced 20 Besancon turnovers. Nigerian-American guard Michael Nwabuzor (188-1996, college: NMHU) notched 31 points to lead the effort and American forward Kahlon Whitley (178-1998, college: GSW) supported him with 18 points. Nwabuzor is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Even 28 points and 6 rebounds by Swedish forward David Hook (197-1999, college: E.Wyoming) did not help to save the game for Besancon . Hugo Cluysen (203-1998, college: NAIT) added 21 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Lyon moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Saint Vallier and Val de Seine. Loser Besancon keeps the fourteenth position with 15 games lost.
