There was a minor upset when 11th rankedPays Salonais (7-17) was outscored by thirteenth ranked Besancon (7-17) in Sapela 86-63 on Friday. Besancon made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Besancon outrebounded Pays Salonais 42-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by Lithuanian Augustinas Venckus (190-1997) who scored that evening 18 points and 5 assists and power forward Yannick Nkombou (208-2003) supported him with 8 points and 11 rebounds. Even 15 points by American forward Dion Wright (201-1993, college: St.Bonaventure) did not help to save the game for Pays Salonais . Swingman Cameron Valcy (194-2003) added 10 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Besancon moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Charleville and Pays Salonais.
