Regular Season Round 20: Cholet - Gravelines 91-85

Very expected game when 14th rankedGravelines-Dunkerque (6-14) lost on the road to eighth ranked Cholet Basket (12-8) 91-85 on Friday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Cholet dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Gravelines-Dunkerque ' 18 and made 29-of-32 free shots (90.6 percent) during the game. The winners were led by forward Mohamed Diarra (208-2001, college: NC State) who scored that evening 20 points and 9 rebounds and the former international point guard Gerald Ayayi (191-2001) supported him with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Even 13 points and 5 assists by American point guard Jacob Gilyard (175-1998, college: Richmond, agency: One Motive Sports) did not help to save the game for Gravelines . His fellow American import forward David Joplin (203-2002, college: Marquette) added 16 points for the guests. Five Cholet and four Gravelines players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Cholet Basket have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Le Mans and Bourg. Loser Gravelines-Dunkerque keeps the fourteenth position with 14 games lost.
