There was a surprise result in Sapela wherePays Salonais (8-21) smashed Etoile Angers (13-16) 103-76 on Tuesday. Pays Salonais outrebounded Angers 41-26 including 17 on the offensive glass. Pays Salonais looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for swingman Cameron Valcy (194-2003) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American forward Dion Wright (201-1993, college: St.Bonaventure) helped adding 25 points. Four Pays Salonais players scored in double figures. Pays Salonais' coach Sebastien Cherasse felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Senegalese center Tidiane Badiane (208-1995) with 22 points and 7 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and Algerian guard Dalil Hadi (185-2003) scored 14 points and 7 assists. Pays Salonais will meet Poissy (#13) on the road in the next round. Etoile Angers will play against SCABB (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
