There was a minor upset when 6th rankedEtoile Angers (13-18) was crushed on the road by eighth ranked Charleville-Mezieres (12-19) 110-81 on Friday. Charleville looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Theo Pichard (197-2005) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 assists and 4 steals (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Naturalized Angolan forward Melvyn Da Silva (198-1999) chipped in 22 points and 6 rebounds. Charleville-Mezieres' coach Jimmy Ploegaerts felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Yanis Harrath (178-1998) produced 17 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and naturalized Ivorian swingman Junior Ouattara (191-2000) added 18 points respectively for the guests. Five Charleville and four Angers players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Charleville-Mezieres . They maintain eighth place with 12-19 record. Angers lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with 18 games lost.
