There was no surprise when 9th rankedBesancon (10-22) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Union Rennes (15-16) 79-75 on Tuesday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Rennes made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Naturalized Madagascar guard Johan Randriamananjara (199-2000) scored 13 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Warren Racine (188-1995) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Calvin Jubenot (198-1986) with 21 points and 7 rebounds and guard Idrissa Pouye (184-2000) scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rennes moved-up to third place. Besancon lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 22 games lost. They share it with 3 other teams.
