There was a minor upset when 4th placedUnion Rennes (16-18) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Charleville-Mezieres (16-19) 97-91 on Friday. Charleville looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. Naturalized Angolan forward Melvyn Da Silva (198-1999) stepped up and scored 41 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds for the winners and forward Theo Pichard (197-2005) chipped in 8 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists. The best for the losing side was naturalized Madagascar guard Johan Randriamananjara (199-2000) with 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and Hugo Kamdem scored 20 points. Five Rennes players scored in double figures. Charleville-Mezieres have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 16-19 record. Loser Union Rennes dropped to the fifth position with 18 games lost.
