Second Stage Round 9: Tours - Boulogne 69-67

The most exciting game of round 9 in the NM1 took place in Tours. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked SO Maritime Boulogne (21-14) to eighth ranked Tours (21-14) 69-67 in the game for the first place. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of SO Maritime Boulogne. It was a key game for the top position in the league. They outrebounded Boulogne 52-35 including 19 on the offensive glass. 27 personal fouls committed by Boulogne helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Senegalese Moustapha Diop (206-2003) who had a double-double by scoring 10 points and 16 rebounds. Mali center Moulaye Sissoko (206-1999, college: N.Texas) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Pierre Hannequin (190-1998) who recorded 17 points and 6 assists and American forward Jaylen Sebree (201-1997, college: Tenn Tech) added 8 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Tours keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Boulogne. Tours is looking forward to face Loon-Plage (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Boulogne will play against Levallois (#4) and is hoping to win this game.
