Regular Season Round 28: Le Portel - Strasbourg 65-102

Everything went according to plan when fifth rankedSIG Strasbourg (17-11) outleveled on the road bottom-ranked Le Portel (1-27) 102-65 on Tuesday. Strasbourg dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Le Portel 's 34. Strasbourg forced 20 Le Portel turnovers and outrebounded them 37-26 including a 28-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Strasbourg looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Le Portel 's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Nigerian center Nelly Joseph (208-2001, college: N.Mexico) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and Mali forward Fousseyni Traore (198-2002, college: BYU) who added 14 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four SIG Strasbourg players scored in double figures. SIG Strasbourg's coach Janis Gailitis felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side guard Kylian Mpete (191-2006) responded with 19 points and American forward Greg Lee (206-1998, college: Penn State) scored 13 points. Despite that victory Strasbourg went down to sixth position due to points difference, which they share with Cholet and Le Mans. Le Portel lost twenty second consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 27 lost games.
